Food Business Support
Loughry Campus is the College’s centre of excellence for food technology. It has lead responsibility for people development and knowledge and technology transfer programmes in the food processing and supply industry. Loughry Campus provides key expertise in food manufacture, innovation, safety, packaging and waste minimisation.
Our team of technologists work with over 250 businesses each year, across the key sectors, encouraging innovation, promoting the adoption of technology and deliver a comprehensive range of accredited training courses. Technological development and support programmes are tailored to meet the needs of individual businesses and the industry as a whole, with a client base ranging from business start-up through to multi-national companies.

Dairy Technology
The Dairy Technology team provide technical advice and guidance, training programmes and assistance with projects such as innovation, food safety, new product development and legislative requirements.

General Foods Technology
The General Food Team provides technical support, to established companies, new companies and entrepreneurs, who are focused on adding value to non-milk and non-meat based raw materials.

Innovation
The Innovation Team aims to provide specialist food technology exploration and development of tailored innovation projects for food businesses.

Meat Technology
The Meat Technology Team provides support to businesses of all sizes including artisan meat producers, start-up businesses through to multi-site processors.

Packaging Technology
The Food Packaging Centre has modern packaging evaluation facilities, unique on the island of Ireland and comparable to many leading packaging testing laboratories in Europe.
