Richard Kane – Seaford, County Down
Richard farms approx. 1000acres with arable rotations consisting of wheat, winter and spring barley and break crops of oats, OSR, potatoes. The farm also has 16 acres of managed woodland. Richard uses GPS to carry out all soil sampling on farm to provide a more accurate whole field analysis. Richard uses SOYL precision crop services which generate nutrient variation maps based on his soil analysis. Richard applies lime and fertiliser by variable rate (VRT) for a more targeted application.
