Food Business Incubation Centre (FBIC)

The Food Business Incubation Centre (FBIC), at Loughry Campus, can help to transform product concepts into a successful thriving business.

One of the biggest challenges for food production businesses is finding premises suitable for food manufacture and fitting these out to meet the exacting legislative requirements.

The FBIC aims to nurture entrepreneurship and enterprise, providing a supportive environment in which new and existing business can commercialise their business ideas. Within the FBIC are eight individual, self-contained factory units in two sizes, 175m2 and 225m2.

Each production unit contains:

  • Intake and despatch areas
  • Chilled and ambient storage
  • Changing rooms
  • Processing area
  • Temperature control systems
  • In house cleaning system
  • Production office

The units have access to:

  • Dry goods/packaging store
  • Chill and freezer storage
  • Blast freezer
  • Staff canteen

Businesses renting units within the FBIC also have access to onsite technology support and the use of Boardroom and Training Rooms.
