Study part-time for a Master’s Degree

August 22, 2023

The College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE), in conjunction with Queen’s University Belfast, offers a Master’s Degree in Business for Agri-Food and Rural Enterprise.  This programme is designed to develop communication, leadership and change management skills.  Whilst it is targeted at the broader agri-food and rural enterprise sector, the management skills developed are fully transferable.

The Master’s programme is available to study part-time, which greatly improves accessibility for those in full-time employment. The part-time programme is delivered on Thursday evenings from 7.00-9.00pm at Loughry Campus, Cookstown.

To attain the Master’s qualification learners study six taught modules and complete a research project.  The topics covered include; skills to affect change in business, integrating learning with business needs, rural business dynamics, change management and research and development.

The part-time Master’s programme is normally completed over a three-year period. However, if you wish to exit after successful completion of one year you will have achieved a Postgraduate Certificate, and after two years a Postgraduate Diploma.

The programme is taught in a friendly and supportive environment with small class sizes stimulating learner interaction. Students are encouraged to reflect on their own personal and professional development. Graduates are very positive about their learning experience.

Applicants should normally possess a BSc (Honours) Degree, at 2:2 over above. We accept degrees from a wide range of subject areas.

The programme is very competitively priced, part-time student fees are £933 per year of the programme. We are accepting applications until early September, so don’t delay, make your application now.
