Shannon Hall, Loughry Campus

Shannon Hall has 95 single study bedrooms, spilt over three wings to accommodate both over and under 18 year old students, male and female.

Bedrooms

Bedrooms comprise of bed, wardrobe, shelving, desk & chair, easy seat and a wash hand basin/mirror. All bedrooms which have Wi-Fi broadband. Toilets/showers are available on each floor as well as tea and coffee making facilities for shared use.

The Riverside Restaurant a focal point within the Halls of Residence is situated on the ground floor of Shannon Hall with seating for 150 people.

The contract caterers offer a large selection of  high quality food and beverages for students throughout the day where students can pay cash or use a flexible catering credit card system. The catering staff will also discuss menu options, special diets and alternatives to suit everyone’s requirements.

Opening times from 8.15am until 6pm during the week, term time for students, staff and external customers.

Student Common Room

Open 24/7 why not relax in the student communal area complete with pool table, table tennis and TV/ X-box/DVD player.

General Information

The cost of accommodation at CAFRE is competitively priced and outlined in the Accommodation Charges document on our website. The Accommodation package includes accommodation with a meal allowance which is operated through a cater card system to use in the dining room.

Students living in onsite accommodation at Loughry Campus will have the support of the Accommodation Manager and Residential Support Team staff who offer advice and help in settling into student life.

All residential students have access to laundry facilities, a modern gym and indoor Multisport Hall at the campus along with access to the Mid Ulster Sports Arena (Mid Ulster Council) which is a modern outdoor facility on the edge of the campus. It includes grass and all weather pitches, an endurance area incorporating a multi use games area, a strength and conditioning room and a 1400m trim trail.

Evening activities are arranged through the Student Council, a group of students elected by their class years who come together to organise activities for all the students to join in such as shopping trips, outings to the cinema, bowling, Go Karting as well many social events, raising funds events encouraging everyone to have fun along the way!
