Clubs and Societies

Meeting new people and making connections is core within college life. So when classes finish for the day we encourage students to get involved with clubs and societies to help forge new friendships which help you settle into college life.

The college has an active Student Representative Council (SRC) based at each campus. The SRCs comprise of students and staff members who meet regularly to organise a variety of activities and events across the college.

In recent years the SRCs have organised social events including: Fresher’s week, ice-skating trips, outings to funfairs, bowling and shopping trips. We’ve even introduced dance classes so our students perfect their jive steps before the social event of the year – the campus formal!

Sporting events include: staff/student football matches, inter-campus football matches, raft races, trips to watch Northern Ireland Football and Ulster Rugby play, mountain biking, equestrian events and Gaelic Football tournaments. A range of sports clubs are on offer at the campus or students can join clubs in the local area.

Fundraising events are embedded into the programme of activities at each campus and our students help support a range of charities. Fundraising activities include: Halloween fancy dress discos, Children in Need activities, Shoe Box Appeal, Movemeber – raising men’s health awareness and cancer awareness days.

The highlight of our calendar each year is the fun-day organised at Greenmount Campus for all students across CAFRE to have a final day of ‘craic’ before the summer break.
