Horticulture career opportunities

Studying for a qualification in Horticulture offers a variety of career opportunities. Like in so many other industries, as experience grows salary potential grows too. Whether your interests lie within plant production, well-being and health, the environment or food security there are jobs to suit you. At CAFRE our courses use our extensive practical and outdoor facilities to develop your skills to work within crop production, amenity horticulture and the sports turf sectors to name a few.

CAFRE Horticulture courses

If you have GCSE or equivalent qualifications the full-time Level 2 Diploma in Practical Horticulture Skills and Level 3 Advanced Technical Extended Diploma in Horticulture will develop your knowledge and practical skills. From these you can progress on to higher level study or enter employment in the horticulture sector. Level 2 and Level 3 courses do not incur fees.

For those with A-Level or equivalent qualifications, consider the Ulster University validated Foundation Degree in Horticulture. On successful completion you could enhance your qualifications to attain a BSc (Honours) Degree (through full-time or part-time study).

All levels of Horticulture courses are available to study full-time or part-time. If you are working in the horticulture sector we offer Level 2 and Level 3 Work-based Diploma and Apprenticeship training opportunities.
