Introduction to Lungeing and Long Reining
This course is designed to guide you through the basic components to start lungeing and long reining. The course will be delivered completely online over a four-week period. There will be online discussion groups, quizzes, and assessments to assist learning. Participants can access the lectures at a time and place which suits them during the scheduled course.
Who is the course for?
This course will provide participants with a good sound knowledge in the principles of lungeing and long reining coupled with demonstration videos on how to apply that theory. This course is suitable for anyone with an interest in equine training including private owners, small scale breeders, animal welfare officers, leisure riders and non-equine vet or vet nurses.
Course content
The course will cover the following
- Introduction to lungeing and long reining.
- Getting started – horse learning and behaviour.
- Lungeing demonstration and discussion.
- Long reining demonstration and discussion.
Assessment
Knowledge will be assessed using online tests as participants work through the presentations.
