Farriery Upskilling Extension Course

The Farriery Upskilling Extension Course is intended for farriers who have completed the Farriery Upskilling Programme at Enniskillen Campus. The course is designed to assist farriers who want to further develop their skills to enable them to take the Worshipful Company of Farriers Diploma (DipWCF) exam.

The course is delivered over two days and students attend forge work and classroom session over the two days.  The places are limited, therefore, priority will be given to recent students who want to take the exam.

Learners are expected to attend the two days at Enniskillen Campus:

  • Thursday 4th May and Friday 5th May
  • Wednesday 31st May and Thursday 1st June
Course content – Main areas of study:
  • Equine anatomy
  • Equine conformation
  • Equine dynamics and movement
  • Limb physiology
  • Injuries and ailments affecting the foot/limb
  • Forging skills
  • Production and fit of horse shoes
Course Entry Requirements

Applicants must have completed the Farrier Upskilling Programme at Enniskillen Campus prior to applying for this course.
