The Job

  • Ensure that products are packed labelled and boxed according to Product Specifications.
  • Carry out pre-operational hygiene checks, metal detection and Olympus failsafes and glass & hard plastic audits on allocated lines at the beginning of shift.
  • Ensure correct operation of Metal Detectors, check weight and Olympus system.
  • Continually audit allocated lines to verify that all checks to ensure the safety, legality and quality of finished goods are completed.
  • To report in the first instance and fully investigate any incidences of missing checks.
  • Ensure that any product on hold issues are fully investigated by the relevant parties, cross functional agreement on next steps and decision communicated in a timely manner.
  • Carry out GMP audits as required by the weekly schedule.
  • Issue quality contracts / specs and promo sheets to the line and maintain the spec / QC folders.
  • Manage the collection of laboratory & taste panel samples to ensure that weekly regulatory and company requirements are met.
  • Ensuring all Hygiene and GMP requirements are met by all staff members.
  • Complete daily / weekly calibration of equipment; mainly thermometers and scales.
  • Complete daily / weekly technical checks i.e. tare weight checks.
  • Drive improvements in customer complaints, cold sampling and taste panel through communicating issues to line and working as part of a cross functional team to rectify issues.
  • Verify line hygiene throughout the shift, verify that line wash downs have been completed where necessary and any actions taken if required.
  • Assist in the training and development of the operations team to ensure that they have the knowledge to complete all checks as required.
  • Attend L1, afternoon handover and downtime meetings as technical representative and escalate any issues during the daily technical huddle.
  • Attend taste panels as required by the schedule or arrange for cover when not able to attend.
  • Ensure all broken equipment/ food contact surface repairs that are needed are reported to Floor Manager, Engineer and Quality Compliance Manager.
  • Assisting with site audits, site visits and product launches.
  • Contribute to an innovative and productive working environment that allows each individual to contribute effectively, develop personally and grow professionally.
  • Ensure Floor Manager and Senior Technical Team are made aware of any food safety and quality related incidents where this has not been properly addressed by a Line Supervisor
  • The role encompasses understanding the needs of the customers and translating them into the factory, managing customer expectations and building key relationships.

The Person

Essential:

  • Currently in second year of a food related course.
  • Flexible, adaptable and the ability to work in dynamic, fast-paced environment managing multiple tasks daily.
  • Exceptional organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability working with employees at all levels in the organization and across all functions.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK, during 12 month placement.
