The Role: As Supplier Approval Technologist you will be responsible for managing all raw materials, packaging, and service supplier’s requirements across Deli Lites. Ensure all Suppliers comply with the Deli Lites. Assisting in external and customer specific audits, customer compliance standards, raw material transfers and where required EPD / NPD projects. Reporting into the site Technical Services Manager.

Your Duties:

  • Completing and maintaining raw material and packaging specifications.
  • Ensuring and managing all suppliers have all the up-to-date information on file: Specifications, SSAQ’s, Product Recall, Supplier Vulnerability and Allergen Information. 
  • Assisting in ensuring that all raw materials used in Deli Lites SKUs are produced in total compliance to either the customer specific, or Deli Lites Branded internal specifications.
  • Communicating with suppliers and where required raising supplier non-conformances, including following up any corrective actions.
  • Specifications are regularly updated and reviewed (Meat specifications yearly, all other specifications within 3 years).  
  • Supporting the NPD Team and Supply Chain Purchasing team, advising on legal, allergen, nutrition, and labelling matters of raw materials.
  • Ensure safety and legality of products is maintained by reviewing raw materials specifications.
  • Assisting in keeping RSPO information is kept up to date.
  • Gathering traceability information from raw material suppliers for export products.
  • Gathering traceability information when carrying out internal and 3rd party traceability requests.
  • Assisting the Technical Team with BRCGS audits and any other site audits.
  • Carrying out site internal audits to agreed schedule.
  • Assisting in carrying out supplier audits.
  • Reporting any concerns on raw materials to the Technical Services Manager.
  • Ensuring all information is ready and updated for product launches and any changes (tag printer).
  • Build and maintain the packaging library.
  • Assist the NPD team in factory trials and EPD changes.  

Desired Criteria:

  • Experienced Raw Material Specifications Technologist.
  • Sound numerical and negotiation skills.
  • Sound management skills.
  • Knowledge of functionality of key raw materials.
  • High level of IT skills (e.g., Word / Excel / PowerPoint / Outlook)
  • Ability to lead, inspire, organise, and motivate in a team.
  • Energy, drive, and determination to succeed.
