Temporary July 2021 to September 2021
1 role available Full time – 5 days per week or 2 part time roles

Join the enthusiastic team and help to maintain and develop the wonderful gardens of Hillsborough Castle.

Hillsborough Castle are inviting applications from students currently studying Level 3 in Horticulture or Foundation Degree in Horticulture who require a placement as part of their studies.

If you have a positive, proactive and enthusiastic attitude then this is the role for you. Applicants for this role will be supporting the rest of the Gardens and Estates team, taking on a variety of different tasks. Working in a small team and with a keen eye for detail you will have a passion for gardening and will be keen to gain experience working in prestigious gardens. You will have the opportunity to build on professional all round knowledge of garden maintenance tasks and gain an understanding of what it means to provide a 5 Star service to our visitors.

The gardens are varied including woodland and shrubberies, formal gardens areas of lawn, a large walled garden with herbaceous borders and vegetable beds. The successful candidate will be positive, team focused and competent in using a range of horticultural machinery, for example hedge trimmers, lawn mowers and strimmers. Applicants must also able to provide the highest level of garden and estate maintenance also while maintaining a safe, clean and secure working environment.

Pay Range: PR NI 12.1 £17,410 per annum pro-rata
