Registered Veterinary Nurse
Glenburn Veterinary Surgeons, Newtownabbey are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their team! The role will involve admitting patients, preparing for surgeries including drawing up of medications, assisting Vets with surgeries, providing care and treatment to in-patients, running nurse consults/weight management clinics, lab work/x-rays/dental scale and polishing, discharging in-patients, cleaning kennels and surgical areas and reception duties on occasion when necessary. The successful candidate will slot into the current nursing rota. This will give them an opportunity to mix with all the team, across our three sites. A driving licence will be essential to travel between sites. Salary up to £29,000 depending on experience plus a relocation allowance up to £2,000, with rota patterns that work for you.
Standard rota includes working Monday – Friday 8:30am-5:30pm.
Weekend rota is 1:7 Saturdays from 9:00am- 6:00pm and Sunday 9:00am -1:00pm with TOIL for this the following week, 1/2 day Tuesday and all day Wednesday. There are no out of hours with this role.

Join our experienced and collaborative team
Our team consists of 7 Veterinary Surgeons, 4 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 2 Student Veterinary Nurses, a Veterinary Care Assistant and 9 Support Staff. We have one Certificate holder in surgery at present and one Vet currently studying for a medicine certificate.
Our practice
We are a 3- site practice with a great team on board. We offer diagnostic imaging at 2 of our sites, dentals, lab work and surgical procedures.
Our Crumlin branch carries out orthopaedic work and we see a varied range of cases; no two days are the same. We are increasing our focus on nurse consults and wellness screening as well as orthopaedics.
The main role would be based in our Glengormley site; however, the successful applicant will also be placed on a rota to cover the other two sites. Our Crumlin site would be the place of work for weekend duty. Our three branches are easily accessible, and we are not far from the North Coast, which offers scenic walks and sights such as the Giant’s Causeway. We are also very close to Belfast which is an upcoming and thriving City.
