Job Title:                                               Quality Technician
Reports To:                                            Quality Manager
Location:                                               White’s Speedicook, Scarva Street, Tandragee
Hours of Work:                                     Shift Work: Monday – Friday (8am – 4.30pm
(The successful candidate will be required to start at 6am & 2pm on occassions to cover annual leave in the Department) 

Summary of Role:

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Technician will be responsible for ensuring the safety and quality of food is maintained in accordance with the company Quality Management System.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all production tasks are carried out to exact quality specifications;
  • Perform the required Quality and food safety checks including Weekly Hygiene audits;
  • Collect and send samples to outside laboratories for testing;
  • Assist in customer audits;
  • Complete and organise on-site Calibration;
  • Complete Internal audits in line with BRC and customer standards;
  • Review and complete staff training;
  • Maintain and improve site quality standards, SOP’s, Supplier management, specifications, internal site audits etc in line with HACCP and legal requirements;
  • Assist with investigations into non-conformances and implement corrective and preventative actions;
  • Complete customer complaint investigations and responses;
  • Review, maintain and update QMS and support implementation of Cloud based QMS system;
  • Maintain and update on site traceability system Navision for new products, labels, bill of materials, traceability and day to day running;
  • Maintain and updated internal and customer specifications. 

Essential Criteria:

  • 1 years Previous experience working in food production / quality role;
  • Have experience completing customer specification systems;
  • Previous experience off on -line traceability systems;
  • Essential working knowledge of BRC, TESCO and other retailer standards;
  • Have the ability to work on your own initiative with minimal supervision and work as part of a team;
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and problem solving skills;
  • Show attention to detail and accuracy of record keeping.

Preference will be given to candidates with:

  • Experience of traceability system NAV;
  • HACCP Level 3;
  • Experience in set up and implementation of ISO 14001 and set up and implementation of ISO 45001 Health and Safety;
  • Internal Auditor Trained;
  • Train the Trainer Qualification.
