We are currently recruiting for a Quality Assurance Technician to join our Quality Department. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is looking to grow their career within an innovative company in a full-time permanent position.
The role:
Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager you will support the activities of the Quality Department to ensure the highest standards of Quality Assurance of our products to our consumers and customers.
Key responsibilities:
- Participate in product and process quality checks, documentation control activities and internal audits
- Ensure products are produced to specification
- Ensure HACCP is being correctly monitored
- Carry out site inspections and internal audits to identify non-conformances and areas for improvement
- Complete raw material intake checks against specifications
- Carry out microbiological and chemical sampling of product and environment for analysis by external lab
- Monitor activities in Goods Inwards and Production areas to ensure correct standards are adhered to (BRC)
- Communicate non-conformances in products or production, and ensure corrective action plans are identified and implemented
- Participate in site visits from external auditing bodies as required
- Participate in traceability and mock recall activities
- Conduct investigations into customer complaints and Supplier non-conformances
- Participate in the supplier approval process
The requirements:
- 3rd Level Qualification in Food Science or equivalent work experience
- Internal Auditing qualification (desirable but not applicable)
- Train the Trainer Qualification (desirable but not applicable)
- Practical knowledge of fundamental technical requirements e.g. Food Hygiene, Food Safety, HACCP & BRC
- Good team player, flexible, open & honest
- Good communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Ability to plan and organise to prioritise workload
- Able to work flexible hours including shift work
- Previous Food Industry Experience would be advantageous
- Excellent computer skills e.g. Excel, Word, Powerpoint
