About the role

Here at Kerry, were currently recruiting for a 12 month fixed term (maternity cover) Quality Group Lead onsite in Coleraine, Northern Ireland. 

This is an exciting opportunity to join a Global player in the Taste & Nutrition space on an interim basis. Could you be just the person were looking for to help us drive Quality standards and processes forward? Could you commit to supporting us in seeing if we can raise the bar even higher? 

Key responsibilities
  • Continuously improve standards set by facilitating and executing appropriate ‘KPS’ Methodologies, such as 8 Step Practical Problem Solving.
  • Guide, train and support the Technical Team and Production teams to ensure Quality inspections are in place including and not exhaustive of Cleaning Pre-start etc
  • Support the development of Site Quality Management System. Develop process quality documentation ensuring alignment with Kerry Group, Regulatory, Customer and 3rd Party Standards. 
  • Help facilitate and on occasions lead out the investigation and resolution of non conformances (including non-conformances relating to product, process, internal and external audits) – communicate issues and feedback to the Quality Function.
  • Through analysis of Production Stream Performance Data, identify performance gaps, trends and improvement opportunities and communicate internally using visual management standards in the Production Stream and externally to site management team.
  • Develop the Site HACCP Plan and Lead the HACCP.
  • Primary focus on Quality/Technical – Identify and solve issues and customer complaints using Problem Solving Tools (3Cs, Fishbone, 8-Step) and maintain all relevant records pertaining to the incident and communicate issues to the relevant Manager on site and/or crisis management team.
  • Facilitate in customer audits and visits to site.
  • Manage Audit Corrective Action Response Facilitate the internal (including mock product recalls and FG traceability challenge) and external Quality Audit process with a primary focus on Process Controls, Product Quality, Food Safety Controls and GMP. Preparation of the formal audit response with relevant parties.
  • Provide support and involvement in the RD&A/NPI processes on site to ensure the efficient and effective introduction of new products and materials onto site whilst maintaining all required safety and quality standards.
Qualifications and skills
  • Education Diploma or higher in a Food Science related subject.
  • Fluency of English language Numerical ability to record, interpret and analyse key process data
  • Experience of managing a team.
  • Understanding of Food Safety and Quality Management Systems
  • Knowledge of the BRC Global Food Standard and specific customer standards as they apply.
  • Understanding and ability to apply in live situations the principles and tools of lean manufacturing
  • Ability to solve problems using 8 Step Practical Problem Solving.
