Willowbrook Foods is a privately owned leading fresh, frozen and cooked vegetable and salad food manufacturer based in Killinchy, with a further product site in Newtownards delivering to clients across the UK and ROI.

Job responsibilities

  • Completing monitoring and quality assurance checks for operational areas, providing feedback and coaching as required.
  • Providing feedback on quality performance to the operational areas and leadership team.
  • Completing periodic thematic reviews to identify and take appropriate action to prevent further quality failures (process failures or customer detriment.)
  • Supporting the continuous improvement of procedures and audit controls.
  • Providing reporting and training needs analysis to our Risk, Compliance, Operational and Learning and Development teams.
  • Facilitating the effective ongoing relationship between quality assurance and internal stakeholders.
  • Supporting end-to-end testing of areas highlighted by the business as high priority/high risk, such as collections and vulnerable customers.
  • Providing management information to the business regarding quality within operations.
  • To provide appropriate QA oversight of manufacturing and testing processes within the business
  • to support the business (including occasional out of hours)
  • Completion of all relevant documentation relating to quality reporting and goods release.

Team Work

  • Working closely with colleagues from production, technical and quality teams to ensure products meet with retailers, food service & food manufacturer’s requirements.

  • Make timely, effective decisions, at a level appropriate to the role, using all of the information available, seeking advice as necessary, and using initiative to diagnose and overcome technical issues.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Bring a strong knowledge and experience base to the business and communicate ideas and suggestions about workplace improvements.
  • Support and co-operate with any related changes identified and implement these changes within the Department or as appropriate.

Self-Development:

  • All staff is responsible for identifying their own job-related training and development needs, and for raising these needs through the appropriate channels, that is, by speaking to their immediate Manager or through Performance Appraisal / Personal Development Plan opportunities.

As and when considered necessary or appropriate the post-holder must be prepared to transfer to or undertake other duties in order to meet fluctuations or priorities in work demands at their immediate Manager’s discretion within reason and competence. This job description may be subject to change in accordance with changing customer requirements or business needs.  The post-holder is expected to co-operate with such changes to support the continued success of the business.

CRITERIAESSENTIAL
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTSDegree or relevant qualification experience
GSCE or equivalent in English and Maths
Results driven
Excellent computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word, Power point)
