Skea Egg Farms Ltd is a significant player in the agri-food sector supplying eggs to major retailers in Northern Ireland and mainland UK. We are currently offering the following full-time permanent position based at Skea.

QA OFFICER

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Day to day monitoring and supervision of existing quality assurance systems
  • Ensuring customer specifications and statutory regulations are met
  • Advising and implementing industry and customer codes of practice
  • Maintaining records of customer complaints, supplier deficiencies and conducting investigations and reports
  • The co-ordination of pest control & cleaning schedules
  • Liaising with the production team to achieve the highest possible standards of product quality, safety and hygiene.
  • Ensuring production and packing staff accurately complete all agreed Quality records.
  • Liaising with auditors from customers and other regulatory bodies and ensuring that corrective action is implemented and maintained
  • Conducting taste panels
  • External audit preparation
  • Carrying out GMP and systems audits and quality checks as required
  • Performing swab testing and organisation of lab samples
  • Supporting organisation staff in their understanding of key quality processes in addition to responding to internal enquiries related to quality assurance systems and processes
  • Liaising with customer artwork houses and packaging suppliers in relation to artwork approvals.
  • Maintaining supplier approval documentation
  • Overseeing calibration of key equipment
  • Maintaining documentation control and trending information
  • Any other duties as requested by management
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • A min of a level 3 food related qualification
  • Ability to interpret and analyse information and data
  • Excellent communication skills and an eye for detail
  • Evidence of excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • IT ability to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Evidence of good planning, organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work as part of a cohesive team
  • Flexibility in relation to hours depending on business needs
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
  • A working knowledge of current food safety standards;
  • Awareness of quality management systems (e.g. BRC)
