A new opportunity has arisen for a Process Development Technologist at Sillis Green Veg.

This is a technically challenging role to manage a business-critical project for Sillis Green Veg. The successful candidate will be supported by senior management and an academic partner to evaluate, design and implement best practice at our modern production facility in Glaslough, Co Monaghan.

You will report to the production management and work with all teams across the business to ensure scalable robust and cost-effective operations.

You will focus on specifying and driving new & improved technology and continuous improvement across our customer and business operations using a lean methodology, whilst helping to build a toolkit from which the business can drive their own problem solving.

Role Responsibilities would include:
  • Identifying new opportunities and making recommendations for future profit improvements in an agreed time frame.
  • Keep up to date with latest technology in the industry.
  • Work closely with NPD to ensure an aligned approach to new business development including scaling up on production processes via trials, making changes ( raw materials, process parameters or equipment) to ensure quality and cost are maintained in scale up.
  • Continuously review all operational processes for improvement in critical areas and challenge and improve production bottlenecks.
  • Build and maintain relationships with potential/existing equipment/technology suppliers to maintain and grow knowledge as well as have competitive edge.
  • Work in a manner that actively seeks to reduce any negative environmental and health and safety impact in relation to processes and procedures within the site.

The successful graduate will lead this project, in a supportive partnership with Southern Regional College and will also have the opportunity to avail of a Post Graduate Diploma with Queen’s University Belfast as part of the employment offering.

Interviews will take place week commencing week commencing 30th January 2023

Essential Criteria
  • Min 2:1 Degree in either Engineering or Technology related Degree.
  • Min 2 years work experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing.
  • Must have a valid visa / work permit in place allowing the applicant to work in Republic of Ireland or alternatively be eligible to work in Republic of Ireland without a visa.
Desirable Criteria
  • Has led improvement projects.
  • Experience of workflow management.
  • Experience of equipment sourcing.
  • Previous experience in food manufacturing
