Part time Farm Assistant is required for a Modern Broiler Chicken Farm with a capacity for 74000 chickens. Also small sheep and beef enterprises on the farm with 40 ewes and 30beef cattle.
We have ambitious growth plans for the incoming years and expect to have a Farm Manager Position to fill within 24months.
We are looking for an ambitious individual to join us on this exciting journey.
Rate of pay: Minimum of £10 per hour with the opportunity to increase this with experience and delivered results.
Hours: The hours will be flexible to suit the candidate with our main focus in the short term to train a potential Farm Manager for the future to support our growth plans.
Main duties:
- All aspects of Broiler Chicken production including
- Walking the chickens to ensure feed and water is available
- Monitoring and recording Feed and water intakes
- Monitoring and recording key environmental measures
- Monitoring bird health and dealing with any issues that arise
- Bedding as required
- Assisting with turnaround activities including clean-out, washing, disinfecting etc.
- Assisting where required with cattle and sheep and general farm upkeep.
Essential criteria:
- Full driving license required
- Ability to work unsupervised once trained
- A focus on results
