Our client’s main activity is the production of young plants of ornamental and food crops. They also execute production activities for their sister company, which is focused on developing new plant food crops with exceptional ingredient potential for the European and African food & beverage industry and European hobby markets. Our client operates a long-standing and innovative plant propagation nursery exporting into the global marketplace.
The role
The successful candidate will be a key member of the overall management team and will be responsible for all production, planning, supply chain and cultivation activities, as well as culture of crops in the nursery and grown on behalf of the nursery, and for technical assistance and support to customers. This role provides an excellent platform for the successful candidate to develop their professional profile within the global nursery and broader horticultural marketplace.
The person
The Ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor of Agricultural Science or similar and/or a minimum of 10 years’ industry experience
- 3 years+ experience in operations management
- Experience in production management/operations management in a nursery propagation setting
- Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment
- Experience in Lean or Global Gap production regulation is advantageous
- Well skilled in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
