The Irish Simmental Cattle Society based at 44 Church St., Tullamore invites applications from suitably qualified people with relevant management experience for this exciting position. They require an experienced leader in agribusiness / animal breeding industry with good business acumen and a proven track record.
The responsibilities vary from maintaining the herd book and organising sales to breed development, growing the market share for the Simmental breed which has the highest daily liveweight gain (ref Herdwatch data), It’s weight for age that delivers profit for beef farmers. Add on easy calving, high fertility, milking ability and docility for this popular international dual purpose breed.
They require an energetic and enthusiastic person, willing to work flexible hours to manage office personnel, provide technical and commercial support to clubs and members. Working part time from home is an option.
The successful appointee will play a key role in negotiations with government agencies and commercial organisations, liaise with other breed societies and all relevant scientific personnel. He/she will bring energy, vision, and innovation to enhancing the range and provision of member services.
The successful candidate is likely to have good Agri and third level qualifications and an excellent knowledge of genetics and pedigree cattle breeding. If you have excellent people, communications, IT, presentation and marketing skills plus the motivation to succeed using your own initiative this is an excellent career opportunity for you.
