JOB PURPOSE/PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:

Conduct periodic Food safety audits against the Kepak Standards for Kepak Food, Packaging and Service Suppliers while working closely with a team of auditors to maintain the Supplier Approval and Monitoring systems in place for the Kepak Foods Division.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare an audit plan using the Kepak audit planning program for approval and monitoring audits.
  • Review previous audits if undertaking a monitoring audit ensuring relevant elements are selected.
  • Conduct audits, determine compliance of supplier management system to applicable standards by interviewing staff at all levels, completing audit report, drawing conclusions on compliance, and documenting findings.
  • Present findings to suppliers and prepare an audit report.
  • Advise suppliers of Kepak requirements, such as the number of days to address non-conformances.
  • Conduct manual reviews and pre-assessments to ensure that the requirements of the Kepak standards have been met and provide the appropriate feedback to the supplier to address any shortcomings.
  • Review team members’ documentation for accuracy and completeness; provide directions and other relevant information to audit team members.
  • Liaise with team members to determine the validity of their findings in relation to lead auditor findings.
  • Ensure all documents required by the Kepak Standard are in place for presentation to the Supply Chain Technical Manager for review.
  • Conduct desktop audits in line with the Kepak Supplier Approval and Monitoring procedure.
  • Develop and maintain a positive, proactive relationship with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Represent the Technical Supply Chain team in multi-departmental meetings and project teams.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements for products developed or manufactured for supplier-related approaches utilised by Kepak.
  • Play an active role in reviewing Kepak Standards and Policies with a view on continuous improvement based on the needs of the business.

SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE

  • Food Science/ Agricultural Science degree or similar discipline
  • Lead auditor training (ISO 9001, ISO 22000, BRC, IFS etc.)
  • Minimum 5 years’ previous experience in quality, food safety, food packaging, food ingredients auditing field.
  • Knowledge of GFSI Standards
  • Knowledge. or general understanding of various management system standards and guidelines
  • Technical ability with Microsoft 365 products, and various word-processing, spreadsheets, and databases.

Note: as with all positions, due to the nature of the business, key responsibilities will evolve and change over time.  Travel within Ireland, the UK and Mainland Europe will be necessary along with possible international travel.
