Hours: Full time 5 days – 40hours per week, additional hours may be required during busy periods.

Enterprise: suckler herd, beef finishing cattle, black face ewes.

Main Duties:

• General livestock work, feeding, bedding etc.
• Active role during calving and lambing.
• All animal husbandry tasks, dosing, weighing and selecting beef cattle and lambs for sale, checking and gathering stock with a Quad.
• General tractor work, slurry, silage, topping, fertiliser/dung spreading, reseeding, feeding using diet feeder.
• Farm maintenance and repairs including machinery, housing, fencing etc.

This is a busy farm and the successful candidate will get the opportunity to work with modern machinery and learn a wide range of skills, thus the successful candidate must be:

• enthusiastic and able to display initiative and a strong work ethic.
• confident around livestock.
• confident with tractor/telehandler/quad work and willing to learn.
• motivated and have an ability to adapt to a varying job role.
• able to work as part of a small team and at times work independently.
• reliable and trustworthy.

Full driving licence essential.

Wages: dependant on ability, good rates for right candidate.
