Job Title: New Business Executive – C&E
Location: Cheltenham Racecourse
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, with raceday cover
Contract: Permanent

If you are a sales driven individual who thrives on developing successful new business relationships within Conferencing & Events, then we have a fantastic opportunity at Cheltenham Racecourse.

Role Summary

Based at one of the UK’s most prestigious racecourses and home of The Festival, you will be responsible for achieving and exceeding targeted Conference and Events sales. Alongside this you will support the Head of C&E and the West Region’s C&E Team in maximising sales from new and existing customers, converting sales enquiries into confirmed business.

Key responsibilities within this role will be;

• to identify and target new commercial customers and sectors, bringing in new sales from these markets to achieve business targets
• devise innovative sales incentives to grow business from the existing customer base to meet targets and ensure strong levels of repeat business.
• proactively manage relationships with C&E agencies, setting regular appointments with new and existing agencies and corporates.
• to represent the Region and the Jockey Club Venues brand as required at exhibitions, agency workshops, on site educational open days, networking and other client liaison activities where needed
• Work closely with the other proactive Business Development Executives (BDE’s) to maximise opportunities and adopt a cohesive sales strategy.

Other skills and experience required are, but are not limited to:

• excellent communication and rapport building abilities
• experience of working within a Conference & Events sales role within the leisure, travel or hotel industry
• experience of being successful in a sales and target driven environment
• experience in new business development and account management
• proven success in sales negotiation
• excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
• evidence of your ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
• excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

Travel between Region’s racecourses will be required so it is essential that the successful candidate holds a full driving licence and has access to a vehicle.

This role will also involve working evenings and weekends to support racing, conference and events as and when required.
