Fresh Fields have been supplying supermarkets in Northern Ireland with local packed produce for 30 years. Our main customers are Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Henderson (Spar and Eurospar) and our main crops are carrots, parsnips and some brassicas. Our production sites and farm are based in Comber Co. Down, halfway between Comber and Newtownards. We are currently recruiting for 2 posts – please see details below.
POST: ASSISTANT PRODUCTION MANAGER X 2
JOB RESPONSIBILITES
- Follow production plan in washhouse to wash, grade and dispatch vegetables to the packhouse and to wholesale customers
- Supervise staff in washhouse and in harvesting team
- Train staff
- Drive tractors and move bulk trailers
- Drive a forklift ( training provided)
- Plant and harvest brassicas
- Ground preparation and tractor work in fields
- Supervise cleaning of production area
- Provide cover for production manager when required
- Complete production records
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Clean driving licence
- Tractor driving experience an advantage
- Good numeracy and literacy
- Good communication skills
WAGE RATE AND HOURS
- £12.13 per hour
- Monday – Friday 8am to 4.30pm are core hours
- Overtime will be worked as required
