World Horse Welfare is an international charity that improves the lives of horses in the UK and around the world through education, campaigning and hands-on care. We work across the UK with horses, horse owners, the veterinary profession, sport bodies, law enforcement and government to promote and protect the welfare of horses. Our four rescue and rehoming centres provide horses in need with urgent and specialist care. Once their rehabilitation is complete, we aim to rehome them in a loving new home through our rehoming scheme.
World Horse Welfare are looking to recruit an Assistant Centre Manager at our rescue centre located just outside of Blackpool in Lancashire.
You will be responsible for assisting with the running of the rehabilitation yard, maintenance team and visitor centre and will be required to take sole responsibility in the absence of the Centre Manager.
- Applicants should have considerable management experience in a busy equine environment
- Be able to demonstrate the ability to handle and work a wide range of equines including youngsters and problem horses
- You must have excellent interpersonal skills
- Be an exceptional communicator
- Have outstanding organisational skills especially when working under pressure
The BHS Stage 4 intermediate qualification is highly desirable.
