LABS is a retail destination providing a full range of products for Agri, Building, Household, Gardening, and hardware customers.  Applicants are invited to express their interest in being considered for the position of full-time Agricultural Technical Sales Advisor at our Limavady branch.

Reporting to the Store Manager and working in conjunction with the Technical Sales Manager the successful applicant will have responsibility for delivering an excellent experience and service to customers, primarily farmers both in store and through on farm visits.

Key Responsibilities include:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Sales Growth and Cost Management:

  • Develop and implement strategies to drive sales growth in Agri products while effectively managing costs.
  • Analyse sales trends and financial data to identify and grow seasonal sales opportunities.
  • Offer services such as soil and silage sampling to customers and advice on results received.

Customer Service:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers to understand their needs and preferences.
  • Provide advice and be a point of contact both in store and on farm for LABS range of Agri products & services.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service standards are upheld at all times.

Debtor Management:

  • Manage debtors while facilitating business growth.

To be successful in the role requires individuals to:

  • Have commercial knowledge as well as sales and advisory skills experience.
  • Possess a qualification relevant to the Agri industry or be from a farming background with excellent knowledge of farming.
  • Be technically minded with an ability to create and close sales opportunities.
  • Highly motivated and driven to succeed in a challenging direct sales environment.
  • Be willing to work hard to succeed in a rapidly changing marketplace.
  • Excellent communication skills both in writing and verbally.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to work well within the team.
  • Good knowledge of basic computer skills.
  • Hold a full clean driver’s licence.

Desirable but not essential:

  • Knowledge and experience of ruminant production and nutrition.
  • Knowledge of the major drivers affecting the dairy, beef and sheep industries and good practical dairy cow and cattle livestock skills.
  • Previous relevant on farm sales experience.
  • Registered Animal Medicine Advisor NI Farm Animals.

  • Salary negotiable dependant on experience and qualifications.
