Mackle Food Company are currently recruiting a Quality Assurance Technician – Night Shift

Working as part of a busy small quality team, the Quality Assurance Technician will be factory-based assisting with the daily management of the Quality Assurance function.   

Main Roles and Responsibilities

• Completing routine process checks such as metal detection, weight checks, packaging & labelling checks, daily & weekly calibration checks, moisture, extrusion and flavour checks.
• Ensuring the product meets customer specification.
• Completing pre-start checks, including ATP and allergen testing.
• Organising shelf-life samples and testing.
• Organising and completing taste panels.
• Laboratory sample collections.
• Other tasks as required to fulfill role

Hours of work 11pm – 7am Monday to Friday, although some Sunday work may be required.

Qualifications / Experience required –

• At least 1 year’s previous quality assurance experience in a busy food factory environment.
• Experience of working with Technical Systems and Standards.

Desirable

• HACCP Level 2
• Food Safety Level 3

• Ability to work on own initiative.
• Excellent communication skills together with a ‘can do’ attitude.
• Good attention to detail and be able to work under pressure in a fast-moving environment.
• IT / Microsoft Office proficient.
