Rush control and water quality – Lower Bann catchment

Water is a resource that connects us all.  CAFRE, in conjunction with NI Water, is holding a webinar on soft rush control and water quality for farmers and landowners in the Lower Bann catchment on Tuesday 4^th October 2022 at 7.00pm. The event is not restricted to Lower Bann landowners – anyone with an interest in the topic can attend.

Different methods of rush control will be outlined with particular discussion on flailing and weed wiping with glyphosate and the results of comparison trials with standard MCPA treatment. The impact of spraying with MCPA on the environment and raw water quality will be outlined by NIW and the water treatment process and costs in the Lower Bann catchment identified. 

There will be an opportunity to submit questions online during the event.
