National Diploma in Food Technology “My interest in food production and processing is probably as a result of my farming background. I want a job within the food industry, particularly within a scientific/laboratory role, though I am open to other options!
I have enjoyed all units so far on the National Diploma, especially Food Microbiology and Food Chemistry. I would describe the course as being “hands-on” and I have gained practical experience in Loughry’s facilities of hygienic food production using industry-grade equipment. This really helped me complete a 12 week industrial placement. I enjoy all aspects of student life and have a close-knit group of friends who, like me, chose this course as an alternative to A-level study.”
