Level 3 Extended Diploma in Land-based Engineering. The course is fun and I’ve got to work with a wide range of machinery; the college has kit that I wouldn’t have gotten the chance to work on otherwise.
I’ve particularly enjoyed all the practical parts of the course and I’ve learned new skills like welding and metal fabrication. For placement I am going to Cowan Brothers, a New Holland dealership in Eglinton. I’m really looking forward to it.
I see the course as a stepping stone into the industry and a good way to learn the fundamentals behind agricultural engineering. So who knows, it may even turn my work placement into a full-time job when I finish the course.
