Mary McQuaide

Mary McQuaide Floristry

I have eleven GCSEs and considered staying on at school to do A- Levels but when I worked in a local florist shop over the summer holidays I just knew I wanted a career in floristry. I completed the full-time Level 2 Diploma course at CAFRE and developed a great range of practical skills. I was delighted to graduate with Distinction and be awarded the Victoria Rose Bowl for design. I now work full time with Central Florist, Newry, where I did my work placement and I’m studying part-time for my Level 3 Diploma in Floristry. There’s great satisfaction in such a creative business and I’m really enjoying developing my own style, incorporating more advanced techniques and being able to exchange ideas with other florists.
