FdSc in Food Manufacture A great thing about the Foundation Degree course is that you get to spend fifteen weeks working in the industry, a real chance to put theory into practice. I completed my placement at Glastry Farm Ice-Cream, a small but progressive family business that has developed a reputation for high quality products. During my placement I was involved in the daily running of the factory, looking at all aspects of the business from milk supplies through to liaising with customers. I feel I gained an excellent insight  into the food industry – a fantastic start to my career in food.
