BSc (Hons) Food Business Management After I completed my GCSE’s I studied at Loughry for a BTEC National Diploma in Food Science and Manufacturing Technology. After this, I decided to stay at Loughry and am currently studying for a BSc (Hons) in Food Business Management. I heard about Loughry from my Home Economics teacher at school. I had developed an interest in food and where it comes from and did not want to stay at school to study A levels. My teacher advised me about the Open Day at Loughry and once I had visited the campus I knew it was the right place for me to continue my studies. Loughry offers an excellent learning opportunity for anyone interested in food. The close links with the agri-food industry means that there are excellent job opportunities for Loughry graduates. During my National Diploma, I really enjoyed studying a unit called ‘Operational Management’ – this greatly influenced my decision to choose Food Business Management as my degree course. I really enjoy my degree and there is a great range of modules to study. The staff are very approachable and take time to speak to you about your progress and any concerns you may have. When I graduate I want to gain experience in the agri-food industry and then start my own business. If you are interested in studying at Loughry, I would advise you to attend one of their Open Days to view the great facilities and find out more about they have to offer you.
