“After my GCSEs I studied the two year Level 3 Extended Diploma in Horticulture at Greenmount. I had worked part time with a local business, Crewe Nurseries, and I especially enjoyed the plant propagation and nursery management units of the course.

I progressed to the Foundation Degree in Horticulture programme and I was fortunate to be awarded the David Colegrave Foundation Bursary of £1,000 to invest in propagation facilities that will increase the range of plants I can grow.

I was selected for CAFRE’s student exchange programme with Michigan State University (MSU) in the USA and studied there for a full semester, alongside American horticulture students. Greenmount had previously hosted two American greenkeeping students, as part of the exchange, so I was able to catch up with them at MSU. I am now completing my BSc in Horticulture and hope to graduate in 2018.”
