“I always knew I wanted an outdoor career and came to study the Extended Diploma in Horticulture at Greenmount after I completed my GCSEs. The course was really comprehensive, with a great mix of theory and practical skills covering a wide range of horticulture subjects. My main interests are in Nursery work and Landscape Gardening and during my course I won a Silver Medal in the Worldskills Landscape Gardening Competition at the Royal Horticultural Society Show at Tatton Park. I went onto study for my Foundation Degree at Greenmount and since graduating with a Distinction I’m now working as a professional gardener with the Historic Royal Palaces at Hillsborough Castle Gardens. I was also on the UK Worldskills Landscape Gardening Team  and won a Gold Medal when representing the UK in the Euroskills Competition in Gothenburg, Sweden. It was great to be announced as the best in Europe and I have since won a Medallion of Excellence in the Worldskills Final in Abu Dhabi.”
