Emma McFarlineFirst overall on the Foundation Degree Emma McFarline (Omagh), was congratulated on being awarded the Alpine Garden Plant Society Award for plantsmanship by Mr Martin McKendry (CAFRE Director) and Mr John Shannon (Horticulture Trades Association Representative, NI Horticulture Forum) at the Greenmount Campus Horticulture Awards ceremony.

 

Carmel MetrustryBanking on success Foundation Degree in Horticulture student Carmel Metrustry (Kells) was congratulated on being awarded the DAERA top part-time student prize and the First Trust Bank Prize for Business Management by Professor Carol Curran (Executive Dean, Ulster University) and Mrs Claire Woods (Senior Lecturer Horticulture) at the Greenmount Campus Horticulture Awards ceremony.

 

Cameron BeggsTop Level 3 student Cameron Beggs (Belfast), was congratulated on being awarded the DAERA Prize for being the top student on the Level 3 Extended Diploma course by Mr Norman Fulton, (Head of Food and Farming Group, DAERA) and Mr David Dowd (Senior Lecturer Horticulture) at the Greenmount Campus Horticulture Awards ceremony.

 

Nathanial WhitemanTop Level 2 student Nathaniel Whiteman (Ballymoney) was congratulated by Mr Keith Jeffers (Horticulture Lecturer), Mr John Shannon (Horticulture Trades Association Representative, NI Horticulture Forum) and Mr Martin McKendry, (CAFRE Director) on being awarded the DAERA Prize for top student on the Level 2 Diploma in Horticulture at the Greenmount Horticulture Awards ceremony.

 

Margaret HigginsTop Level 2 part-time student Margaret Higgins (Dunmurry), was congratulated on being awarded the DAERA Prize for being the top student on the Level 2 Work-based Diploma course by Mr Johnston Shaw (Horticulture Lecturer) and Mr Norman Fulton, (Head of Food and Farming Group, DAERA) at the Greenmount Campus Horticulture Awards ceremony.

 

Callum BurnsideGreenkeeping Cadet Callum Burnside (Carrickfergus) was awarded a Level 2 Work-based Diploma in Horticulture (Sports Turf) and received The Golfing Union of Ireland Prize for the top Golfing Union of Ireland (GUI) Greenkeeping Cadet. Congratulating him on his success are Kevin Stevens (Secretary) and Éamon O’Connor of the GUI Ulster Branch.

 

Ann KirkwoodBudding success Congratulations Ann Kirkwood (Londonderry), winner of the DAERA Prize presented to the top student on the Level 3 Diploma in Floristry programme pictured with Mr Norman Fulton (Head of Food and Farming Group, DAERA) and Mr Martin McKendry, (CAFRE Director) at the Greenmount Horticulture Awards ceremony.

 

Alan GrahamBIGGA winner Alan Graham (Kilkeel), was awarded the British and International Golf Greenkeepers Association (Northern Ireland) Award for the best Level 2 sportsturf management student, by Mr Andrew Barr, of the British and International Golf Greenkeepers Association Young Greenkeepers Committee, with Mr Paul Campbell (Senior Lecturer Horticulture) at the Greenmount Campus Awards ceremony.

 

Emma FaganEmma’s smelling of roses! Emma Fegan (Dundrum), graduated with a Level 2 Diploma in Floristry and was awarded The Victoria Rose Bowl for Progress in Practical Floristry and is pictured with and Mr Martin McKendry, (CAFRE Director) and Mr John Shannon (Horticulture Trades Association Representative, NI Horticulture Forum) at the Greenmount Horticulture Awards ceremony.

 

Paul McAuleyTop greenkeeping student Paul McAuley (Glenavy), was congratulated on being awarded the Golf Course Superintendents Association of Ireland Prize for being the top student on the Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma course by Mr Fergal Greenan (Horticulture Lecturer) at the Greenmount Campus Horticulture Awards ceremony.

 

Christina CanavanBlooming success Christina Canavan (Belfast), graduated at Greenmount Campus Horticulture Awards ceremony where she was awarded the DAERA Prize for achieving the highest marks on the Level 2 Diploma in Floristry course by Mr John Shannon, (Horticulture Trades Association Representative, NI Horticulture Forum) and Mr Martin McKendry (Director, CAFRE).

 

Andrew McLoughlinDesigns on success Andrew McLoughlin (Lisburn) was congratulated by Mr Paul Mooney (Head of Horticulture, CAFRE) and Mrs Clodagh Griffiths (Lecturer) on being awarded The Ronnie Cameron Perpetual Award presented for landscape design project work at the Greenmount Campus Horticulture Awards ceremony.
