Horticulture Awards Day 2017Special guests welcomed Mr Martin McKendry, (CAFRE Director) welcomed Professor Owen Doyle, (President of the Chartered Institute of Horticulture) and Mr Noel Lavery, (Permanent Secretary, DAERA) to the Greenmount Horticulture Awards Ceremony with Mr Paul Mooney, (Head of Horticulture).

 

Horticulture Awards Day 2017First overall on the Foundation Degree Caroline Cushenan (Dunadry), was congratulated on being awarded the DAERA Prize for being the top student on the Foundation Degree in Horticulture course by Mr Noel Lavery (Permanent Secretary, DAERA) and Martin McKendry (CAFRE Director) at the Greenmount Campus Horticulture Awards Ceremony.

 

Horticulture Awards Day 2017Blooming success Clare McAuley (Comber), graduated at Greenmount Campus Horticulture Awards Ceremony where she was awarded the DAERA Prize for achieving the highest marks on the Level 2 Diploma in Floristry course.

 

Horticulture Awards Day 2017Karen’s smelling of roses! Karen Doran (Newry), graduated with a Level 2 Diploma in Floristry and was awarded The Victoria Rose Bowl for Progress in Practical Floristry at the Greenmount Horticulture Awards Ceremony.

Horticulture Awards Day 2017Local Borough success Local student Caroline Cushenan (Dunadry), was congratulated on being top student in the Foundation Degree in Horticulture by Councillor Vera McWilliam, Deputy Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council and Paul Mooney (Head of Horticulture) at Greenmount Campus Horticulture Awards Ceremony.

 

Horticulture Awards Day 2017Top Greenkeeping student Andrew McAlinden (Newry), was awarded the British and International Greenkeepers Association (Northern Ireland) Award for the best Level 2 student by John Young, of the British and International Golf Greenkeepers Association, with Course Manager Paul Campbell, at the Greenmount Campus Awards Ceremony.

 

Horticulture Awards Day 2017Top Greenkeeping Cadet Adam Barton (Ballintoy), was awarded a Level 2 Work-based Diploma in Horticulture (Sports Turf) and received The Golfing Union of Ireland Prize for the top Golfing Union of Ireland (GUI) Greenkeeping Cadet. Congratulating him on his success are Kevin Stevens (Secretary) and Éamon O’Connor (Chairman) of the GUI Ulster Branch.

Horticulture Awards Day 2017Best plantsperson awarded Jordan Black (Ballynahinch) was awarded the Crosbie Cochrane Perpetual Award for Best Plantsperson on the Level 3 Extended Diploma at the Greenmount Campus Horticulture Awards Ceremony.

 

Horticulture Awards Day 2017Designs on success William Fegan was congratulated by Keith Crawford on behalf of ALCI on being awarded The Ronnie Cameron Perpetual Award presented for landscape design project work on the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Horticulture, with Paul Mooney (Head of Horticulture) at Greenmount Campus Horticulture Awards Ceremony.
