ISH Young Breeders Training

This event will be hosted by CAFRE in partnership with HSI & Teagasc.

Overview

The College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE) are delighted to be hosting an ISH Young Breeders Programme training day. The day is part of the ISH Young Breeders Programme, which is run as a joint programme between Teagasc and Horse Sport Ireland.

Who is the course for?

The programme focuses principally on the assessment of conformation and athleticism traits of both eventing and show jumping horses. The training is aimed at those between the ages of 14 to 25 years, however, on this training day it is open to all ages who are interested in assessing, exhibiting and breeding performance horses.

Course Content

Additional topics which are discussed at training include amongst others:

  • Husbandry and breeding
  • Production and training
  • Marketing
  • Career options and advice

Cost

The course fee is £10 per person.

Additional  course information

This training day is on Friday the 26th of October at Enniskillen Campus, CAFRE, starts 1:00pm-4:30pm approx. Canteen is available before-hand for refreshments.

Participants must enrol online by Monday 22nd of October.
