Applying for Environmental Farming Scheme (Wider Level)

In connection with the opening of the Environmental Farming Scheme (Wider level) opening for application from Monday 19 August to 20 September 2019, CAFRE have organised a number of events.  A summary of the events is provided in the table below.

The Environmental Farming Scheme (Wider level) is a voluntary scheme that will support farmers and land managers to carry out environmentally beneficial farming practices on their land.  A range of Scheme Options (which focus on biodiversity, climate and water management) are available to eligible applicants. The Scheme Options and the associated capital works will be discussed at the events with the aim of helping applicants make an informed and accurate application.  Further information about the various Environmental Farming Scheme (Wider level) Scheme and the various Options is available on the DAERA website.

ENNISKILLEN FARM WALK (28 August 2019):  CAFRE Enniskillen Campus have completed a range of environmental enhancements in recent years.  Farmers attending the event will have the opportunity to see the on-going environmental work on the farm and discuss the various EFS Options.   Please bring suitable warm outdoor clothing and suitable footwear for the field visit.

AGROFORESTRY EVENT (05 September 2019):  The CAFRE Environmental Farming Scheme (Wider level) events include an event focusing on the ‘Establishment of agroforestry’ Option at AFBI Loughgall.  At the site, farmers will have the opportunity to learn more about the establishment and management of agroforestry and see the integration of agroforestry on the Loughgall Estate.  Please bring suitable warm outdoor clothing and suitable footwear for the field visit.
