Short presentations on EFS & Agroforestry followed by a field visit to the agro-forestry site with ash, sycamore, cherry and poplar trials. Planting & tree guard demos. Loughgall agroforestry research and EFS requirements will be discussed by AFBI & CAFRE staff.
Information on planting, tree protection, aftercare – grass control and pruning, grazing management, thinning and harvesting and scheme claims and compliance.
Discussion and questions will be welcomed so that participants get a full understanding of the most suitable species and management for their potential sites.
The Loughgall site itself provides an excellent range of demonstration plots varying in species, layout and age (ranging from 4 to 26 years planted).
