CAFRE

Michigan State University (MSU) Exchange Programme

CAFRE has been running a very successful student exchange programme with Michigan State University (MSU) since 1996. To date nearly 100 CAFRE students have spent a semester studying at Michigan and a similar number of Michigan students have studied at CAFRE.

In 2018, CAFRE was awarded the ‘H Paul Roberts Distinguished Service in Education Abroad Award’ in recognition of the college’s outstanding contribution to international education with Michigan State University.

The aim of the Exchange Programme is to encourage CAFRE Higher Education students to study at MSU for one semester as part of their degree programme.

CAFRE students benefit by being able to study at a university that is ranked in the top 100 Universities in the world for teaching and research. The 50,000 students at MSU come, not just from Michigan State but also come from the 50 US states, as well as, from 130 countries across the world. So students get a true international experience.

Four bursaries worth approximately £6000 each are available annually to the successful applicants. The bursary will cover the cost of board and lodgings and contribute towards medical insurance, flights and transfers to the university.

‘Studying abroad at MSU was a great opportunity to meet people from across the globe, exchange accents and cultures. It proved a highly entertaining and exciting time! Being away you learn a lot about yourself and become truly independent, more confident.’
