Queens University are recruiting for a Research Assistant in Animal Behaviour who will be an active member of the EU funded project Healthy Livestock led by Prof Ilias Kyriazakis. The Research Assistant will assist with the planning and delivery of research activities associated with the early detection of health and welfare challenges based on changes in pig behaviour and the effect of environmental enrichment on pig health and welfare. 

The successful candidate must have:

  • Degree in Biology, Veterinary Science, or other relevant Science
  • At least 1-year recent relevant research experience which includes—
    – Behavioural data collection
    – Implementation of experimental protocols
    – Collation and analysis of behavioural data
  • MSc degree in Animal Behaviour or equivalent qualification is desirable
