About the role

We are looking for an experienced, motivated candidate to join our high performing team in Coleraine!

You will join the technical department, reporting into the Quality Supervisor. 

The role involves auditing compliance against defined corporate and customer policies, Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental Standards and product specifications.

Key responsibilities
  • To provide guidance and support to facilitate the implementation and on-going maintenance of Quality / Regulatory policies, Food Safety Programs (HACCP) procedures and product specifications.
  • Perform factory based QSHE audits and inspections to verify compliance against defined standards, codes of practice and product specifications. Audit examples include – Hygiene, HACCP/QC Verification, Health and Safety, Environmental etc.
  • Continuously improve standards set and performance against those standards by leading and participating in CI Process when required with a particular focus on Quality.
  • Provide training, support and guidance to the Teams and ensure standards are fully understood e.g. Quality briefings, GMP training, Food Safety awareness, Issue Management briefings.
  • Provide support to Operational team through confirming and verifying compliance to standards e.g. hand back following engineering work, exceptional situations, minor risk assessment.
  • Perform verification checks on factory measuring and testing equipment.
  • Attend and contribute to product assessments and taste panels as and when necessary.
  • Facilitate the sites pest controls programme, interface with area owners and representatives on investigation and corrective action and keep pest control log up to date.
Qualifications and skills
Essential
  • Diploma or Higher in a Food Science related subject.
  • Fluent English.
  • Numerical ability to record, interpret and analyse key process data.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office tools.
  • Understanding of Food Safety and Quality Management Systems.
  • The ability to identify and actively plan improvements and adapt in a changing environment.
Desirable
  • Experience in a Manufacturing environment in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of the BRC Global Food Standard and H&S Policies and Procedures.
  • Knowledge of Environmental Management systems eg. ISO 14001, 50001.
