CAFRE offers a range of Food courses to help those working in the food industry develop their skills and competences. Courses have been designed to provide a comprehensive range of training from specialist technical skills to professional development. Courses normally range in duration from one to ten days and many lead to validated qualifications. These courses are delivered at CAFRE, Loughry Campus. CAFRE also offers a wide range of food technology transfer services

CIEH Level 2 Award in Food Allergen Awareness
We are now offering a Level 2 programme ‘Food Allergen Awareness’. Developing food allergen awareness is key to complying with the Food Information Regulations 2014. Customers need to be confident that the information provided is complete and correct and the food that is served or sold is safe to eat. This one-day course is aimed at everyone who prepares, serves or sells food in any type of food business. The course has been designed to help food handlers apply the principles of practical allergen management to develop good practice in the workplace. The one-day course will next be run on Thursday 9th March 2017.

Catherine Devlin and Clare Millar attended a prestigious award ceremony at the House of Lords, organised by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) sponsored by Lord Rooker PC, former chairman of the Food Standards Agency. Catherine Devlin on behalf of CAFRE, collected the Top Centre Award, Clare Millar received the Top Trainer Award with her student, Moy Park employee Alison Foster receiving the Top Student Award.

Just before Christmas, Catherine headed back to London, this time CAFRE received the Royal Society for Public Heath (RSPH) award as their top centre for the delivery of courses is HACCP. She is pictured with Cathal McDonnell, Deli-lites, who is RSPH’s top HACCP candidate in Level 4 HACCP for Manufacturing and Rosemary Brennan the course tutor.
