Support for the Dairy Industry

The Dairy Industry is vital to Northern Ireland’s economy, producing approximately 2 billion litres of milk in 2013 that was converted to liquid milk, cheese, powders, butter and ice cream. In 2014 over 2,200 full-time equivalents were employed in this sector, generating a gross turnover in excess of £1,117 million thereby making it the second largest industry in the food and drink processing sector.

The team of Food Technologist at Loughry Campus have a wide range of industry experience which enables them to work with companies of all sizes, from small farm diversification projects through to large companies on a range of product and process technical issues. The team also has a wealth of farm diversification experience and offers support from product innovation right through to factory design and compliance with legislation.

As well as offering general dairy technology training in cheese, ice cream and yoghurt the team are happy to work with your company on bespoke technical training to meet the needs of the industry.
