CAFRE is an integral part of the Northern Ireland Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs’ Food and Farming Group. The College supports the Agri-Food sector through industry training, knowledge & technology transfer, benchmarking and business development planning.
CAFRE provides an accredited training course for those who do not have the required Level II qualification for the Young Farmers’/Regional Reserve scheme. CAFRE assists the Northern Ireland food manufacturing sector through the provision of technology support services to all of the major commodity sectors. The College also has dedicated teams devoted to food business development, innovation and energy and waste management. Training programmes are also available to food businesses.
