‘The Balanced Hoof’ Conference CAFRE Enniskillen Campus

Enniskillen Campus

‘The Balanced Hoof’ Conference CAFRE Enniskillen Campus, in Conjunction with the Worshipful Company of Farriers (WCF)

CAFRE are delighted to host this one-day conference on Hoof Balance and its importance to overall soundness and longevity for the horse.

This is a great opportunity to learn from four top class farriers with a wide range of experience including Worshipful Company of Farriers (WCF) examiners Mark Watson RVM FWCF, Simon Moore FWCF, Jay Tovey FWCF, and Jonathan Nunn FWCF.

The conference will demonstrate the importance of correct hoof balance and how to assess the horse’s feet so that performance is not compromised.

This course will improve participant’s knowledge and understanding of the importance of proper shoeing techniques. It will enable participants to assess the overall balance of the horse’s hooves and make appropriate decisions regarding standards of hoof care.  Participants will also be able to identify when remedial shoeing maybe appropriate.

Course content

Lectures and Practical Demonstrations on the importance of correct hoof balance and how to assess the horse’s feet so that performance is not compromised. Without correct hoof balance the horse can suffer from increased concussion and stress on certain parts of the limb which can lead to reduced performance and impact on long term soundness.

Cost

£30
