Opportunities in Horticulture 2026

Planning has commenced for the annual ‘Opportunities in Horticulture’ Careers Fair which will be held on Wednesday 18^th February 2026  at Greenmount Campus 

Students studying on Level 2, Level 3, Foundation Degree and BSc (Hons) Degrees in Horticulture will be in attendance.  The event will provide businesses with the opportunity to meet CAFRE students who are seeking to recruit for work placements and or graduate openings. 

Cannot attend but want to promote a job vacancy / work placement opportunity?  

If you have work placement / job opportunities available but cannot attend, please email us details, along with any relevant organisational / company literature.  We shall display that information on the day, within the forum, and for several weeks after on our dedicated horticulture careers / work experience Careers Hub and if requested on the CAFRE website.  Job opportunities can be posted on this site and Careers Hub at any time throughout the year.

If you are a Careers Teacher / Advisor or Teacher 

Last year our event attracted more than 30 businesses, with additional jobs displayed around the hall.  If you are a Careers Teacher, Careers Advisor or teach GCSE/A level sciences or host a horticulture club in your school, you will find this event particularly interesting.  We welcome your attendance to our talks followed by the career fair in the afternoon. 

Feedback from last year showed high satisfaction with one career advisor noting “The tour of the facilities was excellent and the range of speakers were very good indeed and provided a real insight into studying horticulture.”
